FAQ

What is a food tour?

Our guided food tour takes you on a leisurely walk through town. We'll stop at locally-owned eateries and shops where you'll taste delicious bites and drinks and hear from some of our amazing partners. Along the way, you'll learn about local culture and history. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience!

How are you responding to COVID-19?

We suspended our normal tour operations during the spring and early summer in an effort to help flatten the curve. Our goal is to resume foodie experiences mid-July. At that time, we will share our established policies based on CDC protocol. It is very likely that this will still include maintaining safe-distancing, using hand sanitizer and wearing masks for the safety of not only our guests, but also our valued partners and our community as a whole.

Where does the tour begin?

Our Taste & See Lunch Tour begins at Patina Green Home & Market, 116 N. Tennessee St. and for our Craft & Comfort Cocktail Tour we begin at Harvest Seasonal Kitchen, 112 E. Louisiana St.

What if I don't see my preferred dates on the calendar?

If your target date is unavailable it's because either we are hosting a private event or a tour is not being offered.

Should I eat before the tour?

If you choose to do so, be sure it’s something light. Our tours include enough food that most people are pleasantly satisfied at the end of the experience.

How long is the tour? Are bathrooms available?

The tour is 2 hours. Yes. Bathrooms are available at our tasting locations.

How much walking is involved?

Each tour route is about a mile.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and shoes! Be sure to check weather conditions the day of your tour and dress

appropriately. Also, you may wish to apply sunscreen and bring a bottle of water during especially hot weather. This is Texas, y'all!

What about parking?

Street parking is free weekends and after 5 p.m. weeknights. There are several free public parking lots in Downtown McKinney. More details will be included with your ticket confirmation. This Public Parking map, provided by the City of McKinney, shows lot locations and info about DASH, the Downtown Area Shuttle.

Are children allowed?

Our Craft & Comfort Cocktail Tour is open to only adults who are 21 and older, but please feel free to bring your young foodies with you on our Taste & See Lunch Tour. Tickets are discounted for ages 4-12. Children under 4 are free. Just be sure to add the appropriate ticket type during the purchasing process.

What about food allergies and preferences?

If you or someone in your group has serious allergies or aversions, please let us know when you purchase your tickets. The tour includes vegetarian substitutions. If you let us know in advance we will do our best to accommodate needs such as gluten-free, vegan, etc.

May I take pictures?

Absolutely! We’d love for you to capture your experience, share pics and post reviews on social media, such as Facebook and Instagram. #weatewellfoodtours

What if the weather isn’t great?

Rain or shine we will walk and dine. Please check the forecast and if necessary bring an umbrella for rain or to provide shade from the sun.

What if I can’t make my tour time?

Tickets are nonrefundable, but we will gladly reschedule you for a future tour date!

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

We find the best experiences are those well planned. To maximize your chances of securing your preferred tour date and number of tickets, please book in advance. Ticketing will end at 9 p.m. the night before each tour. Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard are acceptable forms of payment via our website or by calling our Ticket Line, 972-980-5005. Neither Cash nor walk-up traffic the day of the tour are accepted.

May I tip the tour leader?

Yes. If you’ve enjoyed your time with us, you may choose to show your appreciation with an

industry standard gratuity of 15-20 percent.
